As the governing body of male and female amateur golf in Newfoundland and Labrador, the Newfoundland and Labrador Golf Association (NLGA) has been serving the needs of the golfing public and providing support, encouragement and expertise to our provincial members and member clubs.

 

The NLGA shall foster and promote the game of golf in the province; preserve the tradition and history of the game; organize and administer the playing of Provincial Golf Championships; have a leadership role for golf in the province and a presence at the National level which will influence the development of golf in our province.

 

The NLGA conducts 12 provincial male and female tournaments through the season, which leads to National Competitions throughout Canada:

 

a) Juvenile Championships, boys and girls;
b) Junior Championships; boys and girls;
c) Amateur Championships; male and female;
d) Mid-amateur Championships; male and female;
e) Senior Championships. male and female
f) Super Senior Championships, male and female

 

The NLGA together with the RCGA the Canadian PGA and Canadian National Future Links National Junior development program conducts future links clinics throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.

 

The NLGA is committed to the growth of the sport especially through the juniors; to that end we offer multi-level instruction programs or clinics making accessibility and affordability the main focus. The future links program has approximately 6,000 students who participate each year.
